Jenny Showing how to adjust the Emily Pant waistband

How to adjust the waistband on your Emily Pant [VIDEO]

Because comfort should always fit your day.

We’ve all had those mornings — you slip on your favorite pants, and suddenly they don’t quite fit the same. Don’t worry, we’ve got you. Your Emily Pant was made for days like this. With an easy-to-adjust waistband, it’s designed to flex with you — no stress, no tailor required.

And the best part? It takes less than 5 minutes. Watch the video.

Step 1: Measure Your Waist

First things first — grab your tape measure and see how much you’d like to adjust your waistband.

  • Need to take it in? Move the button away from the black hook.

  • Want to let it out a bit? Move the button closer to the hook.

Here’s a secret: you don’t have to move the hook at all — just the button and bar.

Your Emily Pant was made to evolve with you — no stress, no compromise.

Tools needed for adjusting the Emily pant waistband

Step 2: Gather Your Tools

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A sewing needle

  • A straight pin (to mark placement)

  • Two thread colors: khaki and navy

  • A tape measure

  • A small pair of snips or scissors

Thread your needle with khaki thread (double it up for strength) and tie a small knot. Ready? Let’s move the button first.

Step 3: Move the Button

  1. Mark the new button spot with your pin.

  2. Gently snip off the old khaki threads — be careful not to cut the fabric.

  3. Place the button on your new mark and sew it back on, going through each hole three times.

  4. For extra strength and flexibility, create a little thread shank: bring your needle up beside the button and wrap the thread around your stitches about six times, then tie it off with a knot.

Step 4: Adjust the Bar

Try your pants on to check the fit — if it feels good, button them up and let’s move the bar next.

  1. Remove the bar by cutting off the navy threads.

  2. Place the bar right under the hook and mark it with your pin.

  3. Thread your needle with navy thread this time.

  4. Make sure the bar is even between the top and bottom edges of the waistband, then stitch through each hole twice.

  5. Tie a knot, repeat on the other side, and you’re done!

Less than five minutes to a refreshed, custom fit.

Built for Real Life

Your body changes — and that’s perfectly normal. We designed the Emily Pant to move with you, from busy mornings to slow weekends, and all the in-between moments too.

Fit should be flexible — because you deserve clothes that meet you where you are.

So next time you wake up feeling a little different, skip the stress. Just adjust your waistband and carry on with your day, confident and comfortable in your Emily Pants.

How do you make your outfit feel just right when your day — or your body — changes a little bit?
