Frequently Asked Questions
Orders and Shipping
I ship to all 50 states in the U.S. through USPS or UPS. Please reach out if you have a special need for me to use one or the other service. Because I ship through USPS, we can deliver orders to P.O. Boxes, US territories (including Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, Micronesia, and Marshall Islands), and U.S. military bases.
International shipping can be arranged. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Shipping is free for orders $125+. Otherwise, there’s a $9 flat rate.
Most of my pieces are made-to-order. Right when I receive your order, I gather the elements: fabrics, garments, dyes etc and put your order into my queue for making. Typically, it will take 2 weeks to ship from time you place your order. If I foresee a longer delay, I'll contact you via email. For more info on my process and why made-to-order is a waste free sustainable practice, please read my blog post "What is made-to-order clothing?"
We ship all U.S. orders through the USPS (First Class or Priority), but due to the ongoing pandemic and budget shortages, the delivery times may be longer than usual. Tracking will be provided when your package ships.

If you have an account, you can log in to view your order history and check statuses. If you do not have an account, please email email@example.com.

I always ship with tracking and insurance via USPS or UPS. If your package is lost or stolen, please double check with your carrier. If they don't have it, you can open a claim with them.
Yes I offer preorder, especially on new products. The best way to hear about my pre-order offerings is to sign up for my email list at the bottom footer of this site.
Every preorder will have an expected ship date. Please check the product page and your email.
Every now and then we’ll have new product drops announced on our Instagram and Facebook pages.
You are charged as soon as you check out of your cart.
I accept all standard credit cards, as well as Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc. I also accept Afterpay which allows you to pay in 4 equal installments.
Afterpay is a payment processor that allows you to pay in 4 equal installments, rather than all at once. You can read more about Afterpay here.
Contact me if you don't like your purchase. If you paid through Afterpay, you'll receive a refund initiated by me through Afterpay.
Returns and Exchanges
You can view our return policy here.
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days depending upon your bank.
Our sizes are generally true-to-size. Check out our sizing chart (which shows the recommended body measurements) or reference the detailed fit information on each product page (new styles should include the garment measurements). We also have Real Customer photo shoots where we photograph five real customers (not models) ranging in size from 0 to 18, because these photos give our customers an idea of how VETTA looks on different body types. You can find Real Customer photoshoots linked in the product page or by using the search bar on the site. We hope to do more of these shoots once in-person activities are safer. If you have a question about sizing that isn’t answered there, you can always reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org
You can sign up on individual product pages via the “email me when available” button to be notified if we receive more inventory of that item. We always suggest you sign up for our newsletter so that you’ll be the first to hear about restocks (as well as new products!)
We never say never! Thanks to your feedback, we know which items are fan favorites and we use that information to decide what to bring back and how we can make new, improved versions of our pieces. We recommend signing up via the “email me when available” button on the product detail pages you’re interested in, which will let you know if we get any stock in your size. Or if you want to be the first to hear about past items we’re bringing back, sign up for our newsletter.
Each product has its own individual care needs. You can find care details on individual product pages under “DETAILS” and by checking out our Care Page for additional cleaning instructions. Just a few minutes of care will help your Modern Shibori pieces last a long time.
Discounts cannot be stacked or combined -- just one discount code or promotion per order unless specifically mentioned.
Items not purchased at full price are ineligible for price adjustments. Special offers, discount codes, or bundles do not apply, and cannot be price matched.
Jenny Fong starts a new collection many different ways. Sometimes she'll start with the fabric and silhouette, other times she'll begin with a natural dye color inspiration.
Jenny Fong sketches her designs or upcycles old workwear garments at her studio in Berkeley, CA.
She hand-dyes each garment using natural dyes, shibori resist patterns and sashiko stitching.
Natural fabrics, when manufactured using organic production systems right from fibre to fabric stage, is called organic fabric. In organic farming, the fibres are grown in controlled settings with no pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or toxic chemicals
Made-to-order means we have sewn garments in stock. When you place your order, we’ll go to our inventory of garments and find your size. If you ordered a shibori piece, we’ll start by creating resist patterns. If you’ve ordered a solid piece, we’ll mordant it if necessary and put it into our production schedule for dyeing. Made-to-order is super efficient as we’re not creating completed pieces that won’t go to a good home. Instead, we know the pieces we’re working on are spoken for by our customers. Made-to-order is the exact opposite to over production and reduces garment waste.
All garments are designed in–house by Jenny Fong. Sometimes she'll upcycle old workwear or military pieces, adding some scraps of past shibori products in a zero waste manner.
